VA encourages volunteers to join cross-country march honoring Veterans, service members during ‘Memorial May’

WASHINGTON — Between April 27 and May 29, the Department of Veterans Affairs will support a 20,000-mile march with more than 214,000 volunteers in honor of Veterans and service members. The annual collaboration between VA’s National Cemetery Administration and Carry The Load will host rallies at 38 national cemeteries along five separate routes covering 48 states.

Here’s how you can honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice since 9/11

Looking for a way to honor those who served in the nation’s armed forces in the 21 years since the Sept. 11 attacks? VA’s National Cemetery Administration is partnering with Carry The Load to put on the event. To learn more and view a list of participating cemeteries and start times, visit here. Carry the Load Travels Through Kenbridge

(Kenbridge, VA)--The Southside Messenger--During this journey, the group traveled through the Kenbridge area on May 10th around 2 am. They came from Blackstone and passed through Craig Mill Road and Sneads Store Road, on there way to South Hill and into North Carolina.
