A group is heading through central Virginia to honor the sacrifices of our nation’s service members and first responders.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – A group is heading through central Virginia to honor the sacrifices of our nation’s service members and first responders.

Carry the Load participants came through Albemarle County and Charlottesville on Monday, May 6, after traveling from the Culpeper National Cemetery.

They say it’s to recover the true meaning of Memorial Day.

Marchers and cyclists are making their way to Dallas for a big celebration right before Memorial Day, which is on Monday, May 27.
