DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) – Members of the Dayton Police Department are honored to ride a leg in the Carry the Load Memorial Relay (Midwest) which will be dedicated to Detective Jorge DelRio, who was was shot in the line of duty on Nov. 4, 2019, and died three days later.

The part of the bicycle ride honoring Detective DelRio began at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, at Wright State University Police headquarters. It ended at the Dayton National Cemetery on West Third Street. They rode a distance of 12.3 miles on Wednesday. After the ride there was a short ceremony at the cemetery.
